Exciting News! CJA is ready to welcome girls to our campus this summer!

“I believe it would be a disservice to all young women if they are not afforded the opportunity of the CJA experience. Your institution provides a completion that others can only hope for.”- Karla Lyons
Dear CJA Community,
In last fall’s annual report,we featured the Lyons family (pictured above) who shared the impact CJA has had on their family. Three of the four children in the family have attended CJA so far, and the youngest, Brooklyn, is thrilled to be one of the first girls to enroll at CJA.
While we had originally planned to wait to enroll our first girls until construction was completed in 2023, our parents convinced us that we just can’t wait. They are eager to enroll their daughters. At their encouragement, we worked with our lower school faculty and families and will enroll a mixed age cohort of 3rd- and 4th-grade girls this summer—one year earlier than initially planned.
Starting with a small cohort of girls will allow us to begin building a foundational culture for our girls program in the 2022-2023 school year. Also, we will be able to listen closely to our girls and their families and quickly make any needed adjustments within our program that would be more difficult to make with the larger group of girls that we plan to enroll in the 2023-2024 school year. Most importantly, starting next year with girls allows us to serve more children in our community who would otherwise miss out on a CJA education. We can’t wait to welcome our newest students in just a few short weeks!
How can you help?
We are still hard at work raising both the building and scholarship funds for the campus expansion and the creation of our girls’ program. If you are interested in learning more, please reach out to our Vice President of Development, Mary Grawe, at 773-629-8600 or via email at grawe@cjacademy.org.
