Extra-Curricular Activities

At Chicago Jesuit Academy, we believe in the Jesuit ideal of cura personalis, or care for the whole person. As a result, participation in extra-curricular activities is an essential part of a student’s education at CJA.
CJA students participate in four extra-curricular activities each year. Activities include athletic options as well as a wide variety of non-athletic offerings. Some recent activities offered to students include:
Bike Club/Bike Shop
Flag Football
Robotics
Culinary Arts
Intramural Sports
Soccer
Drumline
Lacrosse
Track
Athletic extra-curricular activities enable students to practice healthful physical activity. In turn, students develop healthy habits related to exercise and well-being which we hope they will carry into adulthood. Nonathletic extra-curricular activities offer students the opportunity to develop a new skill or interest. For many students, this sparks a passion that continues on to high school or even college.

Because there is at least 30 minutes and often 45-60 minutes of daily physical activity built into each student’s schedule aside from extra-curricular activity, our students have ample opportunity to stay physically healthy while choosing musical, artistic or culinary activities, for example, to round out their educational experience at school.
