Dante

Class of 2028

How has your year been so far?

Good!  We have gotten to learn Math, Humanities and Reading, and we get to read books. I love reading. I love reading scary books.

What kind of scary books are you reading?

Goosebumps. I like to draw things from them, and I make my own characters. This (points to a drawing) is a guy I made who loves playing basketball. I haven’t given him a name yet.

What do you like about being a fourth grader?

I get to go to the gym, I get to learn music and I get to learn art. I am in the Art Club co-curricular. I like to draw monsters, animals – those kinds of things.

Did you start at CJA in third grade?

Yes, I started in third grade with another friend. I have a friend from another school who also came here with me last year, and he likes to draw too.

It’s nice to have things in common with your friends. What is your favorite thing about CJA?

I have friends here, and I get to play with my friends. Some of them are in Art Club with me too.

What is one of your favorite things you’ve learned this year?

The butterfly strategy for Math. If you are looking at adding fractions, you add the numbers on the antennas to get to the answer. Then, you have to make a butterfly, and you multiply the wings.

What is your favorite grad-at-grad value?

Committed to doing justice because sometimes I will give people my drawings. I like doing that, and it’s just the right thing to do.

What are the other right things to do that you do at CJA?

I help clean up. I help people, and I help people learn.

If you had a friend who was thinking about enrolling at CJA, what would you tell them?

I would say that we have great food, and on Fridays, we have cookies. We get to do sports, draw and go to cool places.

What are you thankful for?

I’m thankful for my family, friends and teachers. I have two teachers: Ms. Malley and Ms. Schmitt. Ms. Malley teaches us Humanities, and Ms. Schmitt teaches Math. They teach us lots of new things.
