Education
After graduating with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Anthropology at Illinois State University in 2021, Davion took a leap of faith and decided to move to New Orleans to commit to a year of service with City Year. He now works at Dorothy Height Charter School as a 2nd grade ELA teacher and is working on getting his Lower Elementary Teaching Certificate. He is most proud of the fact that he’s been able to move to a new city and establish himself on his own. His goal is to finish TEACH NOLA on a strong note and finish the year strong. He may consider going back to school after that. His favorite CJA memory is when he got the Open to Growth Grad-at-Grad Award at his 8th-grade graduation. His advice to others is to follow your first mind. That’s what he did and it got him to where he is now.
