What does it mean to be a part of the CJA community?

I feel blessed to be able to be here as part of the CJA community. I didn’t really like my old school, but Jesus made me end up here. I feel good that I’m here. I feel grateful, and I feel blessed.

What is it like being a fifth grader?

I transferred here, so I just became a fifth grader here. Being a fifth grader is great. I love co-curriculars. I love study hall because I get to finish my homework.

What is your favorite subject?

My favorite subject is Reading. We’re reading about the Olympics right now, including the very beginning of the Olympics when it started. It’s really cool!

What co-curricular are you in?

I’m in Games Club, and I love Games Club. They have an old Lego game that’s so fun. There’s also a foosball table. At the end of Games Club, we have to be committed to doing justice by making sure that we leave the space how we found it. No one wants to come into a messy space – they’ll have less time to play!

What is your favorite thing about CJA?

I’m just really happy to be part of CJA. I love the extra time we have here. It gives me time to finish my homework in study hall, too. My favorite thing to do is go to the Maker Space to use the robots or go to the Multipurpose Space for recess and gym. I also like being able to do our work in the hallways because it’s so bright and nice out here.

What is one thing that you have learned from a CJA social worker?

I learned that it’s okay to cry whenever you need to. It’s also okay to talk to people that you trust when you need help.

What is your favorite grad-at-grad value?

My favorite grad-at-grad value is committed to justice because I always am committed to justice. You have to think about how what you do is going to affect people. You don’t know what they’re going through.

What are you thankful for?

I’m thankful for being at CJA, and I’m thankful for Jesus dying on the cross for all of us.
