At Chicago Jesuit Academy, our students find a home where their potential is seen, their voices are heard and their ambitions are nurtured. CJA is a loving community that uses rigorous academics, wrap-around mental and physical health supports and a robust team of college and career persistence counselors to walk with our students and alumni from enrollment to the start of their careers. With these resources, our students grow and thrive on their journey as people for others. Below, students from each grade use their own words to exemplify this growth.
My favorite thing about CJA is how the teachers are really nice. It’s fun going to school with my brothers. I see them in the halls, which is really nice. I always love walking down the halls because I get to look at all of my friends’ art outside of their classrooms.
My favorite grad-at-grad value is loving. It is love and sharing with others, spreading love. Also, committed to justice. I am committing to doing justice by helping my classmates.

It doesn’t matter what gender you are – we get to have the same things. We use the same rules, and that is good!
The teachers make CJA special. They are nice, respectful and fair. If you do something wrong, they will make sure that you are honest about it. At my old school, if you did something wrong, they would let it slide. That’s not right! CJA is a great school!

I feel blessed to be able to be here as part of the CJA community. I didn’t really like my old school, but Jesus made me end up here. I feel good that I’m here. I feel grateful, and I feel blessed.
I like loving. There’s something about loving. Loving is a big word. You love your friends, your family and your teachers, so it means a lot.

It feels good knowing that I have students looking up to me and admiring what I do. For the younger students I have strong relationships with, I get to watch them grow up and make better choices.
To be part of the CJA community is to love, embrace and help each other chase each other’s dreams and make their dreams come true.

You have a big responsibility to take care of this community. For example, we learn the grad-at-grad values here. They are a great way to live life. The school wants everyone to follow these expectations in our lives.
Being a leader at CJA comes with a lot of responsibilities. You are being looked up to and watched by the younger students, by everyone, really, so you have to be doing the right thing. When you come to CJA, you need to understand that you are always a role model for those around you. We have to be the people that step up. You have to be the person that’s going to lead. If not you, who?
