What does it mean to be part of the CJA community?
Being a part of the CJA community means being a PFO—that’s a person for others. That means being kind and showing compassion for one another.
It’s been good! This is my second year at CJA. I like my teachers this year a lot. They are kind and treat everyone with respect. They speak in a kind tone.
I like to draw, and I like to paint. I like that Art is calm and peaceful. Ms. Lindsey and Ms. Murdock play calm music, which is really nice. We did a winter project where we started with white pastels and then painted over it. I made a castle!
My favorite subject is Reading because I just love it. Right now, I’m reading graphic novels and standard chapter books. Ms. Lyons is my Reading teacher, and she’s taught me about the Renaissance and Leonardo da Vinci who did a lot during that time as a painter and inventor.
Something I’ve learned from a social worker is you don’t have to keep things that are not right to yourself. You can speak up. Ms. Gilbert taught me that. My favorite thing about Ms. Gilbert is that she is always in a good mood.
My favorite thing about CJA is that everyone at this school is very nice and positive. Mr. Beckley is a nice, positive person. Ms. Curtis, Ms. Hughes, Mr. Brooks and Ms. Harper are all really nice, positive people, too!
Mr. Beckley is just really funny! He is always teaching someone a life lesson.
My favorite Grad-at-Grad value is Loving. I like when people are nice to each other. It makes me feel good when other people are being treated equally. At school, I am kind to everyone. At home, I am nice to my sister.
I am thankful for my family and my friends and my teachers.
I would tell them that CJA is really nice, good and they make learning fun!
